Course ReservesFaculty:AdvantagesLibrary books and faculty-owned books, as well as lecture notes, sample exams, single articles from journals and chapters from books, are available for short term loan. DisadvantagesAvailability of materials dependant on the Circulation & Course Reserves workload, with possible delays of up to 10 days at the start of the semester. Students:AdvantagesMaterials are available for checkout any time the Circulation & Course Reserves is open. DisadvantagesMust have an identification card in order to check out materials. Only allowed to check out items for short term loan periods: 2 hour, 24 hour, or 3 day. |
Journal & Article LinkerFaculty:AdvantagesThe Journal & Article Linker is a tool to generate a link for Blackboard to the full-text of a particular journal article or to a whole journal. The library recommends using this tool for two reasons: 1) It uses the SFX knowledge base(tm) and the link should always be up-to-date and 2) The url is short and easy to import into Blackboard. DisadvantagesLight training required. Some articles may not be available. For articles not available, you must seek copyright permission in order to post actual article on Blackboard.
